We look forward to our all-too-infrequent agreeable weather to grill and/or barbeque in the backyard. Summer is FINALLY here, and we were excited to be able to use the PhatMats at last. They worked perfectly! Tonight's grilling was fajitas which featured tri tip steaks, thin sliced bell peppers, onions & mushrooms all grilled to perfection over charcoal. The mats were fabulous to cook on and a breeze to clean up -- just tossed them into hot soapy dishwater and swished a bit, then rinsed. We will undoubtedly use them another 100 times or more before the weather prohibits our doing so this fall. Great product.
Excellent product. I'm using these for more than the grill. Keep fried foods crispy in the oven, bake potatoes evenly, dry out anything like meringues or kale chips, roasted vegetables get evenly browned and clean up is a snap. They are perfect for smoking anything in the grill and the small holes keep the most delicate foods, like fish.
Just cooked fresh skin on salmon and it was like a dream! I thought okay here is the acid test, right? My neighbor brought over Salmon filet he had caught and prepared hours earlier. I oiled and seasoned them and cooked them on the mat and I was even able to flip them to crisp on the top. And the crispy skin was perfect. Nothing stuck to the mat. I rinsed and cleaned it off in the sink in minutes. Also my fire was quite hot and it did not melt. I am so happy right now.
